Building your contacts list is one of the most important aspects of any business. Collect business cards or personal information of everybody you meet, as you never know when you may need their help. Look at building a database of experts. Your mastermind team should comprise of at least the following:

  • Mortgage Broker (at least two)
  • Solicitors (at least two)
  • Estate agents (at least five) I met 18 see if you can beat that.
  • Letting agents (at least five) I met 14
  • Property finders (you need their knowledge)
  • Joint Venture Partners (critical if you have no finance) I always have a minimum of 4.
  • Private investors / Business angels
  • Coaches and mentors in both business and property (couldn’t of done it without mine)
  • Tradesmen (at least three)

Getting it Right First Time


Making sure you work with the right people is essential. Not every Mortgage Broker knows how to finance property deals for investors and not every Solicitor has an understanding of how to structure deals to your advantage.
