If somebody had told me that in 6 months I would have enough knowledge, experience and confidence to buy a property using little of my own money I would have laughed.
Well that’s exactly what has happened to me. In October 2008 I met Mark and Rob from Progressive at which point I had no experience or understanding of what it was to be a property investor.
After meeting them and other like-minded people it was clear to me that even though my financial situation was not good I could see a way for me to become a property investor.
I read both of their books twice and decided to attend one of their 2 day Master Mind events in October 2008 I must admit there was a huge amount of information to take in but we were given great tools to take a way and also use as reference points. Not only did I meet other investors, so a great way to start networking I came away from the event with so much confidence I got to work the very next day. I put into practice everything they taught me.
I worked on my strategy, set my rules, did a huge amount of diligence and research and was ready to go.
I visited 13 letting agents, 18 estate agents and subsequently viewed over 160 properties offered on 120 and by January 2009 I had 4 offers accepted. It was mad, but let me tell you the experience I gained was un-measurable.
Did I make some mistakes? - yes.
Did I learn from them? - yes.
Do I now own property? - yes.
I worked hard and had to face some challenges, but if you keep an open mind know that for every challenge there is a solution even with no money you can purchase property. This has been a life changing experience for me and I couldn’t have done it without the help of Mark and Rob at Progressive who I trust and have now become friends. Some times it’s worth taking a risk so I encourage you to do the same. If you continue to do what you have always done then guess what, nothing will change.
